Taylor Swift will kick off her much-anticipated RED Tour on March 13 with a sold-out, two-night stand in Omaha, Nebraska. Bringing the songs found on her latest album, Red, to life has been something Taylor has had on her mind since she first penned them.
“When I am thinking about where a song is gonna go, it’s right after I write a song,” she said. “I write a song and then I think, ‘What’s this gonna be like live? Are we gonna perform this live? Are we gonna put this in the set list for the next tour? Okay, how are we gonna approach it?’”
Known for her dramatic live show, Taylor admits planning a new tour can be grueling. “Sometimes I just get like, ‘Oh wow, we have a lot of stuff to do,’” she said. “I try to let myself daydream but I try to not let myself get overwhelmed by the fact that I do end up having to put together a two-hour show that pleases everybody, hopefully.”
Here’s Taylor talking about the tour:
The North American leg of the RED Tour will play 66 shows, including 13 stadium stops, in 47 cities in 29 states and 3 provinces spanning 6 months in 2013. Ed Sheeran is along as special guest with Austin Mahone performing at each of the tour’s stadium stops. Florida Georgia Line, Brett Eldredge, Casey James and Joel Crouse will also open select dates.
