Just two months after Wynonna Judd and drummer Cactus Moser tied the knot, Cactus lost his left leg and shattered his left hand in a motorcycle accident before a show in Deadwood, South Dakota. The couple will share their incredible story of newlyweds finding deeper love on their journey from tragedy to triumph in Wynonna & Cactus: The Road Back, a documentary premiering Monday, March 18 at 10/9c on GAC.
The documentary will include exclusive interviews with the couple as well as first responders and photos and videos from their personal collection. For the first time on television, in-depth details of the crash, the agony of rehabilitation, and the couple’s return to performing together again on tour will be revealed.
“We’ve been documenting our healing process because together we wanted to look back on our journey,” Wynonna said. “We finished the new music and the documentary at the same time, so it feels right to share both in hopes that our story can encourage others who are going through a similar experience.”
Wynonna will release her new single, “Something You Can’t Live Without,” the first single from her upcoming full-length album and co-written by Cactus and David Lee Murphy, on March 18. The album, produced by Cactus, is her first new material in four years and was recorded in her home studio. The collection is deeply personal and dives into the life-changing events Wynonna experienced over the last year.
Additionally, Wynonna will compete on ABC’s Dancing With The Stars. Paired up with professional partner and last season’s champion Tony Dovolani, Wynonna will hit the dance floor for her first dance on Monday, March 18 on ABC at 8/7c.
“I focused on being a wife and a nurse for the last seven months and now I’m doing something for myself,” Wynonna said. “The main word for me this year is ‘risk.’ I’m stepping out of my comfort zone and doing something that a lot of people tell me is crazy—but they get it.”
Wynonna’s new single will be available for download from iTunes on Tuesday, March 19. Wynonna and Cactus are also on the cover of this week’s US Weekly.
