Carrie Underwood drove her latest single, “Two Black Cadillacs,” all the way to No. 1 on the Mediabase Country Airplay charts this week. The feat marks Carrie’s 17th No. 1 single and her 8th No. 1 as a songwriter. Co-written by Carrie, Josh Kear, and Hillary Lindsey, the track was recently certified Gold by the RIAA.
In other Carrie news, she will perform on the 48th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards, where she is nominated for Female Vocalist of the Year for the eighth consecutive year and Album of the Year for Blown Away. She has won a total of 10 ACM Awards, including Entertainer of the Year twice. In 2010, she was honored with the ACM Triple Crown, an award presented to an artist with wins for New Artist, Male/Female Vocalist and Entertainer of the Year.
Carrie is currently on her Blown Away Tour with special guest Hunter Hayes. After learning that “Two Black Cadillacs” had reached No. 1, Carrie announced on Facebook that her new single will be “See You Again.”
