Kenny Chesney and Costa have announced the introduction of five new Kenny-inspired limited edition sunglasses styles. Kenny played a key role in the design of several of this year’s sunglasses, including the metal aviators named ‘KC.’ Other Kenny Chesney Costa sunglasses in the 2013 collection include the new retro Prop, and a re-introduction of Grand Catalina, Caballito and Hammerhead.
“I took a lot of time to help design the look and feel of this year’s line of sunglasses,” Kenny said. “For something to have my name on it, I take a lot of pride making sure the end product lives up to my high expectations in terms of quality and performance. These Costa sunglasses have my personality showing through – they work hard, but they definitely know how to have a good time, too.”
Each of the styles will be available in a variety of bright new frame colors. They will also feature Kenny’s signature on the inside of the temple arms. Five dollars from the sale of each pair of Kenny Chesney Costa sunglasses will be donated to the Coastal Conservation Association (CCA), a grassroots advocacy organization dedicated to ocean and coastal conservation programs.
“There’s a synergy in our partnership with Kenny and CCA now that we’re three years into the program,” Al Perkinson, VP of marketing for Costa Sunglasses, said. “We’re starting to see real results from our efforts in the programs CCA is developing to protect our coastlines, and we’re looking forward to accomplishing even more in the name of ocean conservation in 2013.”
Since first partnering with Costa in 2010, more than $80,000 has already been donated to CCA. The CCA has helped fund habitat restoration initiatives throughout the Gulf of Mexico as well as reef creation and oyster restoration projects around the Southeast.
Each of the new Kenny Chesney Costa sunglass styles will be available for purchase while supplies last at participating authorized Costa retail partners and online at www.costadelmar.com. Each pair also comes with a gift package with purchase, including a microfiber lens cleaning cloth, a Kenny Chesney visor, a bottle opener featuring the singer’s palm tree logo and a specialized sunglasses carrying case.
