Parmalee will kick off the Southwest  Airlines Travelin’ Taylor Tour on May 13. The band will perform on their Taylor Guitars at 35,000 feet in midair for passengers on a flight from Nashville to Houston. The band was selected as the first act to perform during the tour’s 2013 season.

Fans not traveling on the flight will have the opportunity to watch Parmalee’s performance on the Southwest blog, Nuts About Southwest. Past performers on Southwest Airlines flights include ZZ Ward, Youngblood Hawke, Vicci Martinez, Delta Rae, Eric Hutchinson and Hedley. For more information, visit, which will go live on May 13.

In other Parmalee news, the band has earned its second Top 40 hit with “Carolina.” “‘Carolina’ going Top 40 is really special for us since I think the song really defines our sound as a band,” Matt Thomas said. “‘Carolina’ is about how your loved ones make you feel at home no matter where you are – which is something we feel all the time being on tour. It’s really exciting to see fans connecting with the song.”

“On the road we’re hearing ‘Carolina’ on the radio everywhere,” Barry Knox said. “We’re so grateful to country radio and our fans for giving us our second Top 40 hit.”

Fans can listen to and/or download “Carolina” HERE.
