Wade Bowen will host his 15th Annual Bowen Classic celebrity golf tournament and concert to benefit The Bowen Family Foundation June 2-3 in his hometown of Waco, Texas. Over the past four years, he has raised close to a half million dollars for local organizations in need. This year, the event will benefit the town of West, Texas following the tragic fertilizer plant explosion last month.

“Upon learning of the tragedy in West, TX, I immediately knew that I wanted to raise as much money as I could to help with the community’s rebuilding efforts,” he said. “I have many fond memories of West. It was the town in which I had my first real music gig. I even used to work at a family pizza restaurant there and it is the hometown one of my best friends. My heart goes out to all affected by the explosion and I want nothing more than to help as many as I can through the Bowen Classic this year.

“This event is very special and important to me for so many reasons,” he continued. “I truly love having the chance to help those in need and it is such an honor to watch the reactions that come with that. I’ve been very blessed over the last 15 years to have so much help from friends and family.”

The event will kick off with an all-star concert on June 3 at Indian Springs Park featuring Wade, Josh Abbott Band, Aaron Watson, Neal McCoy, Cody Canada & Seth James of The Departed, Willy Braun of Reckless Kelly, Charlie Worsham, Cody Johnson, Josh Weathers and more. The event continues the next morning with a two-man golf scramble at Cottonwood Creek Golf Course.
