Danielle Peck is hard at work in the studio, finishing up her upcoming album, How Freedom Feels, with singer/songwriter and producer Lari White. Both will have songwriting credits on the project. The success of the album’s first single, “Impossible Dreams,” has pushed up their timeline to finish the project.

A contest inspired by the song’s rise above message was recently conducted through Country Weekly. A woman whose work with heroin addicts was inspired by her daughter’s passing was honored as a result of the contest. Hope and redemption are themes throughout the project and Danielle felt both while working with Lari.

“We clicked immediately,” Danielle said. “I’ve never worked with a woman as my producer – there aren’t that many. We were able to connect on a completely different level.”

Danielle and Lari co-wrote the title track with Lari’s husband Chuck Cannon. “That’s actually the first song Chuck, Lari and I wrote together,” Danielle said.  ”We were talking about having the creative freedom to say anything you want, any way you want to say it. And in a lot of ways it’s a reflection of the creative freedom I had working with Lari.”

The pair also co-wrote “Shine,” which was inspired by the personal experiences of one of Danielle’s best friends. “We kind of focused on this idea of telling someone they can absolutely do what they want to do, all they have to do is be who they are,” she sid. “All they have to do is shine.”

How Freedom Feels is scheduled to be released later this year.
