The Grand Ole Opry will honor heroes of the U.S. Military with a red carpet arrival parade and special Opry performance on Tuesday, May 21. In recognition of the 40th anniversary of the return of American troops from Vietnam, Vietnam Veteran members of the Tennessee State Council for Vietnam Veterans of America along with Tennessee National Guard soldiers will walk the red carpet before the show.
The public is invited to be a part of the arrival and celebration outside the Opry House beginning at 6 p.m. The evening’s Opry performance begins at 7 p.m. and is set to include performances by Diamond Rio, Craig Morgan, Easton Corbin, Lee Greenwood, Maggie Rose, U.S. veteran and Sony recording artist Angie Johnson, and more. Angie will sign her new EP, Sing For You, following the show.
“We are pleased to welcome both our nation’s heroes and great country artists to our House Tuesday night,” Opry Vice President and General Manager Pete Fisher said. “We hope country music fans and our Nashville neighbors will come to say ‘thank you and welcome home’ as our heroes enter the
Opry House for a show in their honor.”
