The Band Perry had a spotlight performance at Ohio State University recently that they will never forget. During their song “All Your Life,” the generators unexpectedly blew, leaving the band and crowd in darkness. Their fans came through though, pulling out their cell phones and creating enough light for the show to go on. They followed the song with their cover of “I Will Always Love You,” and shortly after, the lights returned.

“We never know what’s going to happen when we step on stage,” Kimberly Perry said. “One show I’m throwing bits of my shredded dress into the audience, and another we’re playing under the cell phone spotlight.”

“We already play a cover of Queen’s ‘Fat Bottom Girls’ in our set and after last night we may need to prepare a cover of Meat Loaf’s ‘Paradise by the Dashboard Light’ except ours would be called ‘Paradise by the Cellphone Light’” Reid Perry added.

“The OSU students definitely lit up the house in more ways than one!” Neil Perry said. “They were great and they were with us all the way!”

The trio recently announced their first world headlining tour, We Are Pioneers. The tour kicks off in Gothenburg, Sweden on November 8, 2013 at Tradgarn and will travel across Europe for five weeks before returning to North America. They are currently special guests on Rascal Flatts’ Live and Loud Tour.
