Randy Travis to Release Album Inspired by His Influences

Randy Travis will release his 21st studio album October 1. Influence Vol. 1: The Man I Am will celebrate the songs and artists that have been instrumental in developing Randy’s career, including Merle Haggard, George Jones, Lefty Frizzell and more.

“When I think of my musical heroes of yesteryear, or the younger stars of this year, I am reminded that it is true we learn from the ones ahead of us, and teach the ones that follow,” Randy said. “They are the reason I chose to make this album.”

Earlier this year, Randy released a duet with Joe Nichols in tribute to longtime friend George Jones. He debuted “Tonight I’m Playin’ Possum” during the 2013 CMA Music Festival in June. The song can be downloaded on iTunes.
