Alison Krauss on Vocal Rest; Cancels IBMA Appearance

Alison Krauss + Union Station.

Alison Krauss has been placed on vocal rest following a recent diagnosis of a vocal condition called dysphonia, reports the News & Observer. Because of the diagnosis, Alison has had to cancel her scheduled appearance at the International Bluegrass Music Association’s Wide Open Bluegrass Festival set for September 27-28 in Raleigh, North Carolina.

Alison was set to be one of the headlining names of the event. She would have performed September 27 as part of the “Epic Collaboration” with an all-star bluegrass band including Del McCoury, Bela Fleck and more. She is expected to make a full recovery.

The IBMA ticket policy states, “Lineup subject to change. Artist cancellation is not grounds for refund,” meaning fans will not be able to receive a refund. The rest of the lineup, which includes Del McCoury, Bela Fleck, Sam Bush, Jerry Douglas, Tony Rice and Mark Schatz, will perform as scheduled.
