Dolly Parton Okay After Fender Bender; Announces Australian Tour Dates

Dolly Parton was involved in a car accident this morning in Nashville. reports the incident happened just after 11:30 a.m. at the intersection of Vaulx Lane and Kirkwood Avenue.

Dolly was in the passenger seat of a Nissan Xterra driven by 68-year-old Judy Ogle.  They were traveling eastbound on Kirkwood Avenue when a car driven by 64-year-old Diane Lish pulled into the intersection of Vaulx Lane. The two cars collided. A police investigation showed Lish failed to yield. adds Dolly and Ogle were taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center and only suffered minor injuries. Lish was taken to Centennial Medical Center, also with minor injuries.

“I was in a fender bender this morning here in Nashville, but I am all good… Just a little tired and sore. Resting at home now!” Dolly tweeted today.

In other Dolly news, she recently announced she’s heading to Australia. She will take her Blue Smoke World Tour to Australia in February 2014. The tour is in support of Dolly’s latest album, Blue Smoke, with a release date to be announced soon.

“Australia, here I come again,” Dolly said. “We have a lot of new and exciting things for the show and can’t wait to share it with you. I love my fans in that part of the world. You’ve been so very good to me for so many years and I know that we’re gonna have a wonderful time. It’s a long way from home in your part of the world, but I always feel like I’m right at home. So Australia, I’m coming home. Wait up!”

Dolly will soon announce new VIP packages for the upcoming tour that include access to Dolly’s personal wardrobe and instruments, a backstage tour, and an opportunity to meet Dolly.
