Our condolences go out to the family of Albert Kennedy, who died after being struck by Jason Aldean’s tour bus in Knox County, Ind., Sunday night.
According to KERO, Albert Kennedy “walked out into the middle of the roadway” at approximately 1:28 a.m. and was struck by Jason’s bus on the northbound lane of US 41 North. Knox County Sheriff Michael Morris confirmed that Jason was on the bus at the time of the accident. Jason expressed his condolences on Facebook.
“With a heavy heart, I’m sad to say that a man passed away last night after stepping out in front of my bus in Indiana,” Jason wrote. “In all the years I’ve been touring and all the miles we’ve driven, nothing prepares you for something like this to happen. I’m praying for Albert Kennedy’s family and friends today and ask that you do the same.”
The coroner pronounced Mr. Kennedy “deceased from trauma to the head and chest,” after arriving on the scene, according to the police report.
Jason wrapped his Night Train Tour over the weekend, raising more than $575,000 for the fight against breast cancer during his eighth annual “Concert for the Cure” in New Orleans.
