The Band Perry is in the midst of the European leg of their We Are Pioneers World Tour and so far, things are going well. Based on the fan base they have built throughout the United Kingdom, they make it look easy for an American country group to break into markets overseas. But they don’t agree.
“We don’t even ever say that we’re necessarily broken here,” Kimberly Perry said. “We always feel like constantly breaking artists and we have so many goals and so many things left to do.”
The band attributes their success in the UK to pounding the pavement and personally bringing their music to new fans. They made no less than five trips across the Pond last year, a couple of times to promote their music and other times to play clubs. The long flights have paid off.
“I know that we started at the beginning of the year with a crowd of 200 and then came back at the end and we had 1500 in London,” Kimberly said. “For us it’s important to have boots on the ground, if you will, and let them know our commitment to expanding our music across the ocean.”
The trio will wrap the European leg of their tour in Belfast on December 5. They kick off the North American leg of the tour in early 2014. Their latest single, “Don’t Let Me Be Lonely,” is at radio now.
