Angie Johnson has been invited to be a featured vocalist in the Air Force’s premier expeditionary entertainment troupe, Tops In Blue, on a Middle Eastern morale tour over the holiday season. Currently a Tech Sergeant in the Air National Guard, Angie was a member of the band early in her Air Force career.
Angie rose to the international spotlight after her performance of Adele’s “Rolling In the Deep” filmed while stationed in the Middle Easy went viral. “I am so stoked to be going back to the Middle East to boost the morale of deployed troops with Tops In Blue over the Christmas season,” she said. “I can’t wait to go back to where it all began for me.”
The two-week tour will take place the last two weeks of December. Angie has been in San Antonio this week rehearsing with the Tops In Blue. Their set will include Top 40 and patriotic songs as well as Angie’s current single, “Swagger,” and songs from her Sing for You EP.
Angie recently announced that 10 percent of the net proceeds from sales through her new online store will be donated to Operation Homefront, a national organization that provides emergency financial and other assistance to the families of service members and wounded warriors.
