While Sandra Bullock and George Clooney are getting rave reviews for their performances in the motion picture Gravity, the movie’s soundtrack is earning Hank Williams, Jr. rave reviews of his own. His song, “Angels Are Hard To Find,” is featured twice in the movie.

“This song was on both my 1974 album Living Proof and the 1991 album Pure Hank,” Hank Jr. said. “It just proves good songs resurface at the appropriate time. I like both Sandra Bullock and George Clooney in their roles. Then hearing my song in the movie, for me, already made it a winner.”

“There are a couple of parts in the movie where the grizzled man astronaut, played by the devastatingly charming George Clooney, is floating around listening to music in his suit,” Shea Serrano of LA Weekly said. “He’s listening to Hank Williams Jr.’s ‘Angels Are Hard To Find’ which ostensibly is about a woman but can be applied to basically anything else. It was just a tiny part of a gigantic movie, but it was entirely moving. It was so peaceful and terrifying. I loved it.”

Gravity follows Sandra Bullock’s character Dr. Ryan Stone, a medical engineer on her first shuttle mission, and veteran astronaut Matt Kowalsky, played by George Clooney, who is on his final space mission. Disaster strikes during a routine spacewalk, destroying their shuttle. They are left tethered to nothing but one another and spiraling into blackness with dimming hopes of returning to earth.
