Taylor Swift is the first female artist in history to sell out Sydney’s Allianz Stadium, where she kicked off the Australian leg of her RED Tour on December 5 to a capacity crowd of more than 40,900 fans. She is also the first female solo artist in twenty years to embark on a national stadium concert tour of Australia.
Taylor’s RED Tour played to 1.3 million fans in sold-out stadiums and arenas across the U.S. and Canada earlier this year and wrapped a 3-night run of sold-out shows at Auckland’s Vector Arena, playing to almost 30,000 fans, earlier this month. The Australian leg of the tour continues in Brisbane on December 7, Perth on December 11 and Melbourne on December 14 before heading to the UK and Germany in early 2014.
Fans will be able to catch Taylor’s performance of “I Knew You Were Trouble” from Allianz Stadium on the “The GRAMMY Nominations Concert Live!” which airs Friday, December 6 at 10/9c on CBS. Last week, Taylor won four American Music Awards, including Artist of the Year. Earlier in November, she won four CMA Awards, including the prestigious Pinnacle Award.
