Keith Urban has released his new single, “Cop Car,” to country radio. The song follows up his last two No. 1 hits, “Little Bit of Everything” and “We Were Us,” and was co-written by Zach Crowell, Matt Jenkins and Sam Hunt. After hearing the song, Keith knew he had to record it before anyone else could cut it.
“It’s a beautiful song about a guy and girl, falling in love in the back of a cop car while they’re getting arrested,” Keith said. “I’d never heard a song written from this perspective before. But it was so visual, it was such a cinematic, visual song, and God, I love this song so much. I love the melody, the lyric of course, and I know this guy, and I know this crazy girl in the song too.”
After some downtime to celebrate the holidays with his family, Keith will kick off the next leg of his Light The Fuse Tour January 9 in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He will also return as a judge on American Idol when the new season premieres over two nights January 15 and 16.
