Great American Country is thrilled to announce the addition of entertainment journalist Stacy McCloud as the new co-host of Headline Country. She joins longtime host Storme Warren on the weekly news magazine, now in its sixth season. Stacy debuted on the series this week.
“I am thrilled and honored to join both the Great American Country team and our show Headline Country,” Stacy said. “What Storme and the team have built is an amazing, fun series. I hope that I can contribute to that fun going forward!”
“Our goal with Headline Country is to take viewers deeper into the world of country music than they’ve ever been – to go behind the curtain to bring our audience access to the music and artists they love,” Suzanne Gordon, vice president of programming for Great American Country, said. “With so much happening in country music and so much to cover, we’re excited to welcome Stacy and to expand the Headline Country family.”
“We have a lot of great things planned for 2014 and beyond,” Storme said. “In Stacy we’ve found the perfect addition to Headline Country. Her warmth, wit and spirit will elevate the show and help us continue bringing a personalized touch to our reporting.”
As an entertainment journalist in Nashville for the past five years, Stacy has reported on film and TV premieres, the CMA Awards and American Country Awards, Bonnaroo and other live events. Her celebrity interviews include Kevin Bacon, Mariah Carey, Miley Cyrus, Zooey Deschanel and Jeremy Piven, plus Miranda Lambert, Dolly Parton, Blake Shelton, Carrie Underwood and others. Stacy also conducted the final TV interview with George Jones.
Headline Country premieres each Thursday at 3/2c on Great American Country with encore airings throughout the weekend. In Stacy’s first episode, she talks with Jennifer Nettles about her first solo album, That Girl, in the first of a two-part interview. Headline Country also visits the music video sets of Rodney Atkins, Kip Moore and Thomas Rhett this week and talks with Florida Georgia Line, Cassadee Pope, Darius Rucker and more about their favorite 2013 moments.
