Shania Twain’s July 9 concert at the Calgary Stampede sold out in mere minutes after going on sale to the public at 10 a.m. last Friday. Fan demand prompted a second show to be added to the schedule for July 10. Tickets for the second show went on sale at 10:30 on Friday and were sold out shortly after 11 a.m., thanks in part to how quickly local media spread the news.
“We knew demand would be strong, but even we have been awed by the volume of Shania Twain fans eager to see her at the Stampede,” Adam Oppenheim, managing director, Stampede Concerts Inc, said. “It was a tremendous coup that Shania chose the Stampede as her first Canadian concert in a decade. We’re thrilled that we were able to offer a second concert, making twice as many fans very happy.”
The Calgary Stampede, set for July 4-13, 2014 in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, will mark Shania’s first concert outside of Las Vegas in more than ten years. For more information, including updates on additional Calgary Stampede concert announcements, visit www.calgarystampede.com.
