Following Motley Crue’s announcement that they will retire after more than 30 years as a band following one last tour, Big Machine Records has announced it will release a country tribute album to the band, reports Billboard. The album will feature covers of some of the band’s biggest songs by BMLG artists Florida Georgia Line, Brantley Gilbert, Justin Moore, Eli Young Band and Cassadee Pope.
LeAnn Rimes, who is currently not signed to a record label, will also be a part of the project. Big Machine CEO Scott Borchetta is excited about her participating in the project, telling Billboard she “has a great idea for one of their biggest hits. It will shock people.”
According to Borchetta, the album will also include artists not associated with Big Machine and will include several collaborations. “I want them all to strip down the songs to just the acoustic guitar and then rebuild them with their own vision,” he said. “The songs are that good they can stand up to that kind of treatment.”
There is no release date yet for the tribute album.
