People tend to think Valentine’s Day is a holiday that means more to women than men. But Eli Young Band disagrees. They care about the holiday because they care about their wives. Sometimes, that means celebrating when the band isn’t on the road.
“We do care about it, but we care about it for her,” he said. “We have to plan our Valentine’s Day on a different day and luckily our wives are very understanding about that. We get to have a special Valentine’s Day and they’ve always been great about it.”
The band’s Jon Jones has some advice for women who may be expecting a big, romantic gesture on the holiday. “The best Valentine’s gift you can give a guy is, take it easy if he doesn’t do it quite right on Valentine’s Day,” he said. “If he doesn’t give you the gift you’re wanting, take it easy on him.”
Eli Young Band will be on the road this Valentine’s day, playing Albany, New York on Darius Rucker’s True Believers Tour. Their new album, 10,000 Towns, containing their latest single “Dust,” hits stores March 4 and is available for pre-order now.
