Merle Haggard will celebrate the 45th anniversary of his Okie From Muskogee album with the release of the 2-disc Okie From Muskogee Anniversary Edition on March 25. The set will include a live recording of his The Fightin’ Side of Me album that has never before been released on CD or digitally.

Originally released in December 1969, the live album Okie From Muskogee was released shortly after the infamous single reached No. 1 on the country charts. The album, recorded live in Muskogee, Oklahoma, won the Academy of Country Music award for Album of the Year in 1969, Top Male Vocalist, and Single of the Year for “Okie from Muskogee.”

The Fightin’ Side of Me, originally released in 1970, has long been out of print and highly sought after by collectors. This is the first time fans will be able to own a remastered CD/digital version of the album in 40 years.
