Love and Theft will headline the first Buckin’ Wild Music Fest, a new red dirt festival set to take place July 18-19 at the Lost Creek Arena on historic Route 66, just west of Erick, Oklahoma. The festival was founded and is being produced by Donny G. Liles, father of Love and Theft’s Stephen Barker Liles.
“We have great artists who will deliver fantastic entertainment, but most important will be the people they’re entertaining,” he said. “I know it will be a success when I hear people saying, ‘This is our festival.’”
In addition to Love and Theft, The Great Divide, Granger Smith, Cody Canada and The Departed, HWY 351, Mike Ryan, Red Dirt Rangers, Jacob Powell and J.W. Lane and County Road X will also perform. Nashville songwriters will be on hand to play for fans between sets with more artists to be announced in the coming weeks.
Besides music, fans will also be able to enjoy a 30-man novice invitational bull riding competition on the morning of July 19. World champion bull rider and founder of the Professional Bull Riders (PBR) Cody Custer will oversee the competition. Winners will share a $4,000 purse/100% payback.
