The Band Perry’s mother isn’t just a great mom, she is also a great coach. The sibling trio say their mother is very involved with their career, helping them be the best artists and performers they can possibly be. Even if it looks like she isn’t even watching their show.
“If you ever see our mother during a show, she’ll be back by the sound board, and usually she’s on her iPhone,” Kimberly Perry said. “It’s not that she’s not paying attention, but she’s taking notes from the show. Because let me tell ya, before everybody goes to bed in the bunks at night, we’re gonna be reviewing those notes.”
“She’s like a coach for The Band Perry and she does a good job,” Neil Perry added. “For the past 15 years she’s done that.”
So what kind of notes does she take? “It’s funny, she’ll read through her notes and it’ll be things like, ‘K.P., sing this line clearer; Neil go here during this one; Steve, Dad mow the lawn’,” Reid Perry said. He jokes that she never has notes for him although Kimberly disagrees, saying their mother often tells him, “Reid, keep your hair out of your face.”
The band’s latest single, “Chainsaw,” is at country radio now. They will join Blake Shelton’s Ten Times Crazier Tour, which kicks off in June.
