Willie Nelson will release his latest album, Band of Brothers, on June 17. The album includes 14 tracks, nine of which Willie wrote or co-wrote, including the album’s title track. “I got on kind of a writing kick,” Willie said. “It’s good to be writing again.
In addition to the album’s nine original songs, the project features a few cover songs, including Vince Gill’s “Whenever You Come Around” and Bill Anderson’s “The Songwriters.” One of the songs penned by Willie, “The Wall,” is his way of apologizing for some of his previous behaviors.
“I had been on tour, and, the next thing you know, I hit the wall,” he told Rolling Stone. “It turns out it’s a pretty good song.”
“The Wall” is available now for digital download. Anyone who pre-orders Band of Brothers on iTunes will receive an immediate download of the song. Willie is preparing to hit the road with Alison Krauss on their co-headlining tour after rescheduling a few dates for an “urgent health concern.”
