Miranda Lambert is giving fans the chance to hear her new album, Platinum, before it officially hits shelves on June 3. She will send her vintage 1954 Flying Cloud Airstream, which she has named “Wanda the Wanderer,” to seven cities on the Platinum Across America Tour. The Airstream will be topped by a 6-foot-wide, 3-foot-tall aluminum crown, adorned with crystals.
“Wanda is my grandma on my mom’s side, although we call her Nonny,” Miranda said. “She’s a feisty lady full of sass. Since she can’t travel with us everywhere, we decided to name our faithful Airstream road companion, ‘Wanda The Wanderer,’ after her. This Airstream has been with us on tours throughout the years and is now embarking on yet another adventure, Platinum Across America! She IS the ‘queen of the road,’ and I’m so happy to share her, in all of her glory, with fans across the nation. She is what Platinum is all about! Cheers, Wanda! And remember, not all who wander are lost!”
Fans will be selected to visit Wanda and hear the album via a sweepstakes through Miranda’s online community and country radio. Fans not selected to hear the album can still participate in the “Platinum Park” activities that will accompany Wanda, including a hair station, sun-tea stand, corn hole, a leather workshop, vintage postcard photo ops and more. Fans who pre-order Platinum on site or provide proof of their previous pre-order purchase will also be invited to tour Wanda The Wanderer and listen to the title track while on site.
Fans who aren’t able to attend a Platinum Across America date can follow the journey through Miranda’s website, where they can also register to win a trip to see Miranda in concert, with a meet and greet that includes a private tour of Wanda.
