Taylor Swift is known for being one of the most generous country stars and her generous ways continued with a donation of $50,000 to the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP). The money will go towards purchasing a music therapy cart, which will allow the young patients to create and produce their own music while receiving care for their illness.
“We are thrilled that Taylor has chosen to support The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia’s Cancer Center,” Steven M. Altschuler, M.D., chief executive officer of CHOP said. “[Swift's] gift will help lift the spirits of many CHOP patients during a difficult time.”
“Taylor’s music is an inspiration to so many of our teen patients,” Lamia Barakat, Ph.D., psychologist and director of the Psychosocial Services Program at CHOP’s Cancer Center, said. “We can think of no better way to use her gift than to grow our Adolescent and Young Adult initiative designed to support the emotional well-being of our teens with cancer.”
Taylor also put in time visiting the patients. She will wrap her international RED Tour on June 12 in Singapore before turning her full attention to her upcoming album.
