Chris Young’s CMA Music Festival plans took an unexpected turn following his fan club party on Thursday night. After returning home, he was making a late dinner when he cut his left hand with a kitchen knife and was rushed to the hospital.
Chris was first forced to cancel an autograph session scheduled for Friday, but planned to perform Saturday at LP Field as part of the Nightly Concerts as scheduled. However, he had to cancel the appearance after undergoing surgery Friday to repair the damaged tendons in his hand. He was released from the hospital Saturday morning but was unable to perform.
According to a statement released by Chris’ publicist, he is expected to make a full recovery and will be able to resume playing guitar after he completes rehabilitation. Chris is scheduled to spend most of the summer on the road with Dierks Bentley’s RISER Tour. His latest single, “Who I Am With You,” is climbing the charts.
