Luke Bryan had a lot to celebrate last week. While celebrating four back-to-back No. 1 hits, he was surprised by UMG Nashville Chairman & CEO Mike Dungan with the news that his Crash My Party album has been certified double platinum after selling more than two million units. The album was released in August 2013 and debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart, selling over 528,000 copies in its first week.
Crash My Party contains the title track “Crash My Party,” “That’s My Kind of Night,” which was a double platinum-selling, three-week No. 1, “Drink A Beer,” a double platinum No. 1, and “Play It Again,” a platinum selling four-week No. 1.
With “Play It Again” in its fourth week at No. 1, Luke has surpassed his previous best No. 1 run, which he set when “Crash My Party” held the top spot for three weeks in July 2013. No solo act had stayed on top for four weeks since Blake Shelton’s “Honey Bee” in August 2011.
Luke is currently headlining his That’s My Kind of Night Tour.
