Father’s Day is this Sunday and some of country music’s biggest stars also happen to have a soft spot for the women in their life – namely, their daughters. Tim McGraw has three daughters with wife Faith Hill. In a household full of women, he has learned a thing or two.
“I think that probably the biggest thing that I’m still always working on is having a house full of women is learning patience,” he said. “I’ve never been a very patient person so I think either I’m getting mellower with age or they’re teaching me patience. It’s one or the other. I’m not sure which one it is. Probably a combination of both.”
As for Gary LeVox of Rascal Flatts, his two daughters, Brittany, who will be 14 in August, and Brooklyn, 10, keep him on his toes. “They surprise me every day,” he said. “Brittany being 13 years old, just her knowledge of life and her common sense. She’s so smart and it’s like talking to an adult.”
While band mate Jay DeMarcus jokes Brittany gets those traits from her mom, Gary couldn’t imagine his life without them. “My daughters, they’ve molded me into the man that I am today,” he said. “They are truly the greatest gifts that I ever could’ve imagined being a part of. I’m so blessed to be their father and they’re just a wonderful part of my life, and the biggest part of my life.”
