David Nail invited students enrolled in GRAMMY U, a program for college students who are pursuing a career in the recording industry, to a weekend tour stop in Irvine, Calif., with Lady Antebellumon their Take Me Downtown Tour. Students attended David’s sound check and then David took part in a Q&A session and posed for photos with students.

The Recording Academy’s GRAMMY U program gives students the opportunity to attend events and special programs in all areas of the music industry, both the artistic and the business side. As members of The Recording Academy, participants have access to the industry and its artists, including established songwriters, musicians, producers, remixers, art directors and executives, as well as fellow students.

GRAMMY U SoundChecks has featured some of music’s biggest stars, from Beyoncé, Justin Bieber, The Black Keys, The Civil Wars, Dave Matthews Band and Drake, to Imagine Dragons, Jack Johnson, The Lumineers, Mumford & Sons, Taylor Swift and U2 . Production professionals, technical crews, tour managers, and other behind-the-scenes professionals have also participated to provide additional insight on the broad spectrum of careers available in music. David is currently a special guest on Lady Antebellum’s Take Me Downtown Tour. He recently released his new single, “Kiss You Tonight,” to radio.
