Fans have been waiting all year for football season to come back around and when the NFL kicks off this fall, Carrie Underwood will be back! She is set to return to NBC’s Sunday Night Football for the 2014 season for another performance of “Waiting All Day for Sunday Night.”
“This year, they were going for a roaming party-concert — lots of lights and they wanted it to feel really high energy,” she told The Hollywood Reporter. While the song will sound similar to last year, she did make a few updates. “I got to go back into the studio and make a few tweaks,” she revealed.
Carrie will also appear in the kickoff video for Super Bowl XLIX. Sunday Night Football coordinating producer Fred Gaudelli said the Super Bowl opening will feature “high end digital graphics, the Lombardi trophy replicated larger than life, and the traditional Super Bowl roman numerals taking various shapes across the screen.”
“I feel the glamour a bit more in that one,” Carrie said. “It’s a game like no other so they wanted to make it have an opening like no other.”
NFL stars Peyton Manning, Eli Manning, Terrell Suggs, and J.J. Watt will also appear alongside Carrie in the new Sunday Night Football opening. The first Sunday night game will take place September 7 between the Indianapolis Colts and the Denver Broncos.
