Just in time for the 4th of July, Kenny Chesney has released the video for his new single, “American Kids.” The video celebrates what makes America’s youth unique by featuring a cast of characters from all walks of life. Shot in the desert, the video features a psychedelic school bus filled with a mix of people, having fun and playing music. The sense of freedom in the video goes along with what the song is all about.
“I don’t care who you are or what you do, everybody needs to let their hair down, just forget about expectations and be in the moment,” Kenny said. “I love this song because of the way it paints a picture of how we all grow up, the innocence and the fun; but if you really listen, it’s about how we should really live and love.”

Kenny once again worked with longtime director Shaun Silva for the clip. “If I could create a video where it wasn’t so literal, but more about the state of mind and the freedom my fans embrace, then to me, that’s the best way to capture the song on film,” Kenny said. “Anyone, everyone who’s ever been glad they’re alive… they’ll take one look at this and know.”
“American Kids” is featured on Kenny’s new album, The Big Revival, set for release on September 23.
