Rascal Flatts is currently headlining their Rewind Tour with special guests Sheryl Crow and Gloriana. For the band, picking the right opening acts is a crucial part of any tour. They look for an act that is talented, but also one that has potential.
“I remember in the ’80s, when I was a kid, I went and saw this group Aerosmith,” Joe Don Rooney said. “Pretty good band. They had this young artist named Bryan Adams that was opening up for them. It was like, “Wow, I got to see Bryan Adams for the first time,” and he went on to be a mega-star, but I went to an Aerosmith concert not knowing he was going to be opening up, or who he was. I think the experience and the package are very important.”
Rascal Flatts had to cancel their shows over the weekend due to illness, but plan to be back on the road again soon. Their latest single, “Payback,” is in the Top 30 and climbing.
