Barns usually serve as backdrops for weddings, engagement shoots, senior portraits or rustic outdoor parties. But at Great American Country, we’re more intrigued by the barns themselves, not as backdrops but as country homes or retreats. With a renewed interest in simple living and re-purposing the old, folks are gravitating more and more to the countryside and converting unused barns into beautiful living spaces, businesses and more. Take a look at our Beautiful Barns gallery for some rustic barn inspiration.
From the Junk Gypsies to the Farm Kings, members of our own Great American Country family live out the farm life every day. Amie and Jolie Sikes keep their junky treasures in a barn and their Wander Inn and Junk Gypsy store are both outfitted in reclaimed barn wood. As for the King family, their farm works as both a home and a business. Mostly, it’s a gathering place for friends and family.
Whatever the uses, barns continue to be idyllic structures serving many purposes. With plenty of natural rustic charm, spacious interiors and country views, barns can easily be transformed to accommodate a modern lifestyle.
