Eli Young Band consider one another more brothers than band mates. With their rigorous tour schedule, they spend a lot of time together on the road. As much as they like one another, they have their ups and downs. According to bass player Jon Jones, he and drummer Chris Thompson are the easygoing members. It’s Mike Eli and James Young that are high-spirited – but that may be by design.
“When James and I start, kinda getting into it, everyone scatters,” Mike Eli confessed. “So we’ve kind of discovered that and when we want some space on the bus we start getting into it a little bit and then once everybody leaves we break open the Jack.”

With a successful career and growing families, Eli Young Band is in a good place. Their latest album, 10,000 Towns, reflects the band’s overall positivity. “I think that we wanted that sort of joy-of-life to be reflected on this record,” Chris Thompson said. “I think we’re really having a good time and it was time for us to put together a record that reflects that we’re out there having fun and that life is good, and all that.”
Eli Young Band’s latest single, “Dust,” featured on 10,000 Towns, is in the Top 15 at country radio and still climbing.
