I never take time to celebrate these things. going to tonight!” he posted on Facebook.

Keith Urban picked up four award nominations, including Entertainer of the Year and Male Vocalist of the Year. Urban has won Male Vocalist three times, from 2004-2006, but wasn’t able to accept his last win in person.

“This morning, I was just thinking the last time I won that was 2006, and I was in rehab and I couldn’t be present to receive it, which I don’t really have any adjectives for how that felt not being able to be here to receive that award,” he said. “Now, fast-forward eight years and be at this place in my life and get that nomination this morning, I was right back there in that moment with deep, mixed feelings, mixed feelings of how devastating and emotional and chaotic everything was then and how living life a different way the last eight years to land at a different place is extraordinary.” Continue Reading

Blake Shelton Shares Details About His New Album

Blake Shelton

Blake Shelton’s newest album title, Bringing Back the Sunshine, sounds like a compilation of happy songs. However, the singer says that isn’t the case, which explains the album’s cover art featuring a stormy black-and-white scene.

“My last couple of albums have been so positive, because when I made them I was just getting married,” he told Rolling Stone Country. “It’s been in this awesome place. But after a while, as a country singer, I gotta get back to singing about getting drunk because there’s people out there — and I’ve been one of them — that have had their heart broken, or they’ve had a tough day at work, or they get stabbed in the back.”

New details have been released about the Doobie Brothers tribute album, Southbound, set for release on November 4. While the group remains tight-lipped on which of their dozens of hit songs will make the record, they have revealed which artists will appear on the record.

Acts confirmed for the project include Brad Paisley, Blake Shelton, Zac Brown Band, Toby Keith, Chris Young, Charlie Worsham, Sara Evans, Jerrod Niemann, Amanda Rivera and Love and Theft. Vince Gill, Hunter Hayes and Dann Huff will each play guitar on project. The idea for the tribute album came from producer and songwriter David Huff.

“We were on the road, and he came and visited us,” band member Tom Johnston told Lagniappe Mobile. “He came to us with the idea, and everybody thought it would be a cool thing to do. We had never thought of that ourselves. At the same time, we didn’t know there were people in the country genre that were fans of the band. He thought it would be a really great idea for us to pair together with a bunch of big names in country music.” Continue Reading
