To commemorate Record Store Day on April 21, Pistol AnniesMiranda Lambert, Ashley Monroe and Angaleena Presley – will release the vinyl version of their album Hell On Heels. The CD and digital album were released in August of last year and has produced a gold single with the debut track, “Hell On Heels.”

“The music of the Pistol Annies is the three of us truly being ourselves—not only in our songwriting and storytelling, but also in the way we perform as a team,” Miranda said. “We wanted to make music that people talk about but might not want to admit and it’s the kind of raw and honest country music that deserves to be on vinyl.”

There is also a widget available at http://www.tweematic.com/pistolannies/ featuring an animated record player where fans can listen to the album with the ‘fuzz and crackle’ that goes along with a worn vinyl album. Fans will be automatically registered to win an autographed copy of the album and a Sony USB Stereo Turntable to play it on when they share the widget. Fans can find a list of participating independent record stores on the site as well. Continue Reading

Blake Shelton Celebrates Eleventh No. 1 & a Tweet from Merle Haggard

Blake Shelton photo courtesy of Warner Bros. Nashville.

Blake Shelton is celebrating his eleventh No. 1 single. “Drink On It,” is his sixth straight No. 1 hit and comes just after Blake was named Male Vocalist of the Year during the ACM Awards. He gave credit to his team at Warner Bros., country radio and his fans for making it happen.

“I really couldn’t be happier about this one y’all,” Blake said. “Bob Reeves and the WMN team, you beat the odds and won the game, and country radio, you are my brothers and sisters. I love you. Thanks so much for always supporting my country ass. Now, let’s Drink On It!”

Blake is so thrilled with the No. 1 that he took to his popular Twitter account to solicit congratulations from some of his famous friends like Alison Sweeney, Adam Levine, Elliot Sadler, Jerrod Niemann and his favorite red head, Reba. “@reba hey red…. Aren’t you gonna congratulate me?!!!” Blake tweeted.

Reba wasn’t the only female country star he was trying to get a response from. He also hit up his wife Miranda Lambert. “@Miranda_Lambert hey boss… Aren’t you gonna congratulate me?!!!” he wrote. Miranda responded “on having a hot wife? Yea congrats.”

Despite all the well wishes and congratulatory tweets coming in from fans and famous friends alike, there was one tweet Blake had to stop the presses for. “RT: ‘@merlehaggard: Blake congratulations on your number one!!!’ Everybody stop!! Hats off.. Moment of silence.. Merle Haggard just tweeted me!!” Blake wrote, re-tweeting Merle’s congratulations. Continue Reading

Blake Shelton on Date Night with Miranda Lambert

Blake Shelton photo courtesy of Warner Bros. Nashville.

Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert attend their fair share of glamorous events together, including Sunday night’s ACM Awards. For example, check out these great photos of Miranda and Blake from the ACM Awards Red Carpet. But when the couple gets a chance to have a date night, they keep things simple.

“Miranda loves to sit on the couch and watch movies and drink all night, and there will be at least four dogs piled up on us,” Blake revealed in People Magazine’s latest country special. Blake is featured on the cover as Country’s Hottest Guy.

While Blake might be enjoying the movie during date night, he knows when it’s time for him to be the good husband. Miranda simply shakes her empty cup at him. “I go get her a drink,” he said. “Whatever she needs. And she loves it. So that’s an easy way for me to keep her happy.” Continue Reading

Taylor Swift was named Entertainer of the Year for the second year in a row by fans during Sunday’s ACM Awards. Taylor took advantage of her time onstage to thank her fellow nominees and give a shout out to Kevin McGuire, the young man suffering from Leukemia who was supposed to be her date. Kevin was hospitalized and unable to attend.

“My date tonight was supposed to be a high school football player named Kevin McGuire, and he’s not here, but I promised to give him a shout out,” Taylor said. “So Kevin, all your family and friends — thank you for wanting to take me to the ACMs.”

It was also a big night for Miranda Lambert. She picked up her third Album of the Year trophy for her album Four The Record as well as her third straight Female Vocalist of the Year award. “I own every record in this category, and I’ve been listening and listening and thinking, ‘Man, I’m not gonna get it,’” Miranda said of her Album of the Year honor. “Every one of your records is amazing, and I’m so thrilled,” she said to her fellow nominees. “I will never take this trophy for granted. My albums are my babies.”

Jason Aldean and Eli Young Band also had good nights. Eli Young Band won their first ACM Award for Song of the Year for their hit “Crazy Girl,” co-written by Lee Brice and Liz Rose. Jason was surprised on GAC’s Live Red Carpet Special when Nan Kelley helped ACM CEO Bob Romeo present him with the award for Vocal Event of the Year for “Don’t You Wanna Stay” with Kelly Clarkson. The song was also named Single Record of the Year.

One of the most talked about performances of the night came from Kenny Chesney and Tim McGraw. The pair, who will be touring together this summer on the Brothers of the Sun Tour, debuted their new single, “Feel Like A Rock Star.” The rocking number is already available on iTunes.

Every wedding day is special, but it’s extra special when you’re getting married on live TV in front of country music’s biggest stars. That’s what happened during the ACM Awards for couple Christina Davidson and Frank Tucci. Martina McBride and Train’s Pat Monahan performed “Marry Me,” while a minister conducted their wedding ceremony, leaving few dry eyes in the house. Continue Reading
