Jimmie Johnson Experience Added To Bama Rising Concert Online Auction

Several items have been added to the Bama Rising: A Benefit Concert For Alabama Tornado Recovery online auction. One of the most exciting new items added is a NASCAR experience with 5-time champion Jimmie Johnson. The package includes a meet-and-greet with Jimmie, passes to the Jimmie Johnson Foundation Fest, suite passes to the Bank of America 500 Sprint Cup, a VIP garage/pit tour and an autographed No. 48 Team Lowe’s Racing fire suit from the 2009 championship season. Also added was a hand-painted Gibson guitar by Nashville artist Sam Bass, signed by all artists scheduled to perform.

The online charity auction opened yesterday at www.charitybuzz.com/bamarising and runs through 11 a.m. CST Thursday, June 16. Up for grabs are several artist meet-and-greets, tickets for two in Terry Saban’s box for a 2011 University of Alabama football game, and a football signed by top round draft picks and UA alumni Julio Jones, Marcell Darius and Mark Ingram. Alabama Announces ‘Bama Rising: A Benefit Concert for Alabama Tornado Recovery’

Alabama has announced that they will spearhead ‘BAMA RISING: A Benefit Concert for Alabama Tornado Recovery’ at Birmingham’s BJCC Arena on June 14. The concert will raise funds for relief efforts after tornados ravaged Alabama on April 27. Brad Paisley, Martina McBride, Luke Bryan, Dierks Bentley and Darius Rucker are just some of the artists scheduled to perform during the concert, which will be presented by Verizon.

“My hope is that this will bring happiness and help to my fellow citizens in Alabama,” Alabama’s Randy Owen said. “I believe it’s extremely important that we do this benefit, and I want everyone in the state to feel like they are part of it. I hope we all can pull together to help get through the worst natural disaster I’ve ever seen in Alabama. I appreciate my friends in country music, everyone that’s been involved, and anyone that’s helped in any way.”

Crystal Bowersox Makes Surprise Grande Ole Opry Debut

Crystal Bowersox thought she was only visiting the Grand Ole Opry Friday night, hanging backstage to listen to the Oak Ridge Boys, Bo Bice and Vince Gill perform but she got the surprise of her life when instead of just visiting the Opry, she made her Grand Ole Opry debut.

Before the Oak Ridge Boys performed, Opry announcer Mike Terry introduced Crystal who waved to the audience from the side of the stage. After the Oak Ridge Boys performance, which also featured Bo, Vince Gill — serving as the segment’s host — invited Crystal onstage. Continue Reading

Clay Walker Hosts Chords of Hope MS Benefit Concert

Clay Walker has been outspoken about his battle with Multiple Sclerosis since he was diagnosed in 1996 and has become an advocate for raising awareness about MS, giving hope to others who suffer from the disease, and raising funds for MS research through his charity, the Band Against MS Foundation. For the second year in a row, Clay and some of his fellow artists are gathering at Nashville’s Wildhorse Saloon for Chords of Hope, a benefit concert that will raise funds for MS research at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Clay will be joined by Bo Bice, Steve Holy, Rivers Rutherford, Rio Grand and Sarah Marince at the Wildhorse Saloon in Nashville TONIGHT, March 2.  

“This concert is truly a marriage between two important aspects of my life—music and raising awareness for MS,” Clay said on his website. “I’m thrilled to be performing again at the Wildhorse and I’m honored to continue our support by raising money for the important MS research being conducted by our friends at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.” Continue Reading

Trace Adkins Takes Top 20 to the Barnyard

Our Top 20 Country Countdown went to the barnyard this week when Trace Adkins stopped by to talk about his new video, “Brown Chicken Brown Cow” and brought along his co-stars from the video – who  just happen to be puppets! Things got a little wacky on set when Trace, his puppet doppelganger, and his chicken, cow, and pig co-stars sat down with host Nan Kelley. This is one episode you don’t want to miss!

Katie was so excited to hit number one that she took to Twitter to let everyone know.

Josh Turner Visits Top 20

Josh Turner swings by this week’s Top 20 Country Countdown for a chat with host Nan Kelley as she counts down the videos you chose from twenty all the way down to number one. While American Idol alums Carrie Underwood and Bo Bice have been enjoying top spots on the countdown, Josh had an “Idol” experience of his own last week when he learned a contestant chose his song, “Your Man,” to sing for the judges. The contestant, 16 year old Scotty McCreery, made it to Hollywood and Josh became a trending topic on Twitter after the audition aired.

The Top 20 isn’t the only place you can catch Josh on GAC. He’s co-hosting GAC’s Top 20 Lovin’ & Leavin’ Songs with the hilarious Laura Bell Bundy, just in time for Valentine’s Day!
