Dolly Parton has sold tons of things in her lifetime: concert tickets, albums, movie rights, a house or two — she’s even sold pink rocking chairs at Cracker Barrel.

Now she’s opening her own retail store for the first time to sell all sorts of Dolly delectibles. The shop, Dolly Parton’s Trinkets & Treasures, won’t hold its grand opening until the spring, but the doors will be unlocked Tuesday at 126 Second Ave. N., next door to the Wildhorse Saloon in downtown Nashville. The site is perfect — just a few blocks from the Ryman Auditorium, the building in which she was made a member of the Grand Ole Opry in 1969.

Among the goods available: T-shirts, hats, kids’ memorabilia and music, including her current CD/DVD Live In London. The first 500 shoppers who drop $20 or more will receive a free Backwoods Barbie tour book with their purchase.

Dolly’s drawing from some of her early solo material in creating her retail outlet. The shop mixes shades of red, blue, yellow, pink, green and purple — an intentional nod to her classic “Coat Of Many Colors.” And unintentionally, it pays respect to a lesser-known 1975 hit that claimed its title from the now-appropriate opening line: “My life is like unto a bargain store.”
