If you can’t make it to Boston tonight to see Kenny Chesney and fellow songwriters Bob DiPiero, Matraca Berg, Brett James, Wendell Mobley and Craig Wiseman as part of the CMA Songwriter’s series, you can stream the event online. NoShoesRadio.com and CMASongwritersSeries.com will both carry the show from Boston’s Royale Nightclub starting at 8/7c.
Tonight’s show isn’t your only chance to catch Kenny in Boston this weekend, however. Kenny has moved his show scheduled for Sunday, August 28 to tomorrow, August 26, in light of the impending arrival of Hurricane Irene. Following the devastating stage collapse as a result of high winds just before Sugarland took the stage at the Indiana State Fair almost two weeks ago, Kenny made the decision to move the show with the safety of his fans in mind. Chris Young celebrated the success of his third No. 1 single, “Voices,” with a party at ASCAP Monday night, honoring both him and his co-writers, Chris Tompkins and Craig Wiseman. “Voices” was not only a No. 1 single, but also a record-breaking hit. Chris first released the song in 2008 and it peaked at 37. Following the success of “Gettin’ You Home” and “The Man I Want To Be,” Chris’ label decided to release the track a second time. When the track went No. 1, it broke a 25-year record previously held by Randy Travis’ “On The Other Hand” as only the second time in the modern era of the Billboard country chart for a re-release to reach No. 1.
At the No. 1 party, Chris talked to GAC about how he and his co-writers penned “Voices” and revealed where he was when he found out it had reached the top spot. Watch our interview with Chris to see what he has to say! Continue Reading

Dierks Bentley photo courtesy of Capitol Nashville.
When Dierks Bentley booked his Miles & Music For Kids charity motorcycle ride for rainy Seattle, he had to know it was a possibility that the event would get drenched.
That possibility became reality. The city was hit with a heavy downpour last Saturday, but the good folks of Washington State still came out in full force. They raised $50,000 for Seattle Children’s Hospital, as Dierks continues his work for kids charities. Since he established the Music & Miles program in 2006, he’s raised a whopping $1.3 million in all.
“Rainy days aren’t typically when most people are itching to get out the motorcycle for a leisurely afternoon ride,” Dierks says. “But we’ve come to learn over the last few years of putting these rides on that motorcycle riders may look big and bad, but they have a heart of gold, and it would take a lot more than a little rain to deter them.”
Dierks has another Miles & Music date on the horizon, but it’s just one of numerous charity events that country stars are undertaking in the near future. They include:

Blake Shelton invoked the name of Country Music Hall of Famer Conway Twitty in the opening line of “Hillbilly Bone,” and he employed Trace Adkins in bringing it to life.
So when Blake celebrated the song at a No. 1 party on Wednesday, it was only appropriate that a couple of other artist attachments came into play. The party took place at the Starstruck offices, a building owned by Reba McEntire. Reba’s husband, Narvel Blackstock, is Blake’s manager. Blake also brought along Miranda Lambert, to whom he’s newly engaged, though Miranda remained out of sight for most of the event, presumably to avoid distracting attention from the accomplishment of her future husband.
