Gary Allan’s latest album, Get Off On The Pain, got off to a good start selling 65,000 copies in its first week of release. That’s enough to land him at No. 2 on the Billboard Country Albums chart — trailing only Lady Antebellum’s Need You Now — and at No. 5 on the all-genre Billboard 200.
The title of the album is dark, which is typical for Gary, though the actual music is a little lighter in tone than his previous two releases.

Gary Allan has a new album on the way next week, and he’ll give it a little push this weekend by joining host Nan Kelley on the latest edition of GAC’s Top 20 Country Countdown.
The album, Get Off On The Pain, arrives in stores on Tuesday. The first single, the ballad “Today,” is hanging in at No. 10 on the current Top 20. His label meanwhile released the title track as the next single on Thursday. He’ll also spend a little time talking about plans to join Brooks & Dunn this summer on the Last Rodeo Tour.
