Vince Gill will receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame next year, alongside fellow 2012 honorees Jennifer Aniston, Richard Burton, Kate Winslet, Scarlett Johansson, Jennifer Lopez, Adam West, Barry White, Hal David, David Foster, the band Heart and cartoonist Matt Groening. Vince calls Nashville home now, but at the age of 19, he moved to Los Angeles, going up and down the famed sidewalk, finding the stars of his heroes.

“When I lived out there, I was such a young person that I hadn’t really accomplished much of anything,” Vince said. “So even the thought of one day having a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame was preposterous. It was silly. It wasn’t even in the realm of my thinking. I walked up and down Hollywood Boulevard and said, ‘There is so-and-so.’ I never thought for one second, ‘I will have one of these one day.’”

Vince’s wife, Amy Grant, received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2006. “Amy has one out there, which is really neat,” Vince said. “I got to go out there and experience that with her. When I found out that I would be getting one too, I said, ‘If you could just put it next to Amy’s that would be awesome.’” Continue Reading

Ever since he appeared in the 2004 films Black Cloud and Friday Night Lights, Tim McGraw has had a fairly regular supply of roles in the movies.

The latest news in that department: He’ll appear in the spy drama Safe House, set to start shooting in South Africa, according to comingsoon.net. The movie stars Ryan Reynolds and Denzel Washington. Tim revealed his involvement during an interview for Country Strong, the film in which Gwyneth Paltrow plays a country star.

In that picture, set for national release Jan. 7, Tim portrays the husband/manager of Gwyneth’s character, Kelly Canter, taking the struggling singer out of rehab early in an attempt to jump-start her career before she loses her fan base.

Because of the subject matter, Tim’s role with Country Strong went deeper than usual. Country music is, after all, a world he knows quite well.

Next Friday, October 2 at 11:30 a.m., Crystal Gayle will get her own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Crystal’s star will be near her sister Loretta Lynn‘s star, and it’ll be the 2,390th on the Walk. Tanya Tucker will be a guest speaker at the event.

Crystal was born Brenda Gail Webb in Paintsville, Kentucky. When she was four years old, her family moved to Wabash, Indiana. Inspired by her sister’s career, she decided to learn to play the guitar and later sang in her brothers’ country bands. Continue Reading
