The winners of the 2011 ICM Faith, Family & Country Awards have been announced. The awards were held October 28 at the Schermerhorn Symphony Center in Nashville.  The ceremony wrapped up Inspirational Country Music Week, presented by the Inspirational Country Music Association.

Ricky Skaggs was the big winner of the night. He took home the ICM Award for Entertainer of the Year as well as the ICM for Musician of the Year. Christian artist Chuck Day was another double winner, earning the ICM Male Vocalist award and the Inspirational Country Song of the Year award for his song “I’ll Stand Up And Say So.” ICM Female Vocalist went to Kali Rose while Jeff Bates was awarded the ICM for Mainstream Country Artist.   Continue Reading

Storme Warren and Megan Alexander will host the event, held at the Schermerhorn Symphony Center. Additional events during ICM-Faith, Family and Country Week will be held at the Millennium Maxwell House Hotel, including the Power Source No. 1 party, showcases, talent and songwriting contests, seminars, worship services, retail exhibits and more.

Before the awards, the first-ever PINK Carpet Gala Event will take place as breast cancer survivors and country artists celebrate and raise awareness for the cause. Joe Nichols and Steel Magnolia are set to headline the Fifth Annual Country Weekly Fashion Show & Concert. The event, which will be emceed by GAC’s Suzanne Alexander, takes place  June 7 at Nashville’s Rocketown and will benefit Musicians On Call, an organization that brings live and recorded music to patients in healthcare facilities.

“The Country Weekly Fashion Show is a fun way to kick off CMA Music Fest,” Joe said. “Music fans can sit back, relax and see their favorite artists doing something a little different. If you’re attending this year’s CMA Music Festival and you’re coming to Nashville the weekend before, Joey + Rory have just the thing for you to do. The husband and wife duo have set Saturday, June 4, 2011 as the date for their 3^rd Annual “Bib & Buckle Fest” Homecoming Concert, Food & Fun event.

What started as a casual gathering of fans and friends for an afternoon of music has turned into a full day of activities that includes a canoe float, games, karaoke, and of course, lots of music from 4 to 8 p.m. In years past, the performances have been held in the field behind their farmhouse in Pottsville, Tennessee. But this year, they’ve moved the stage from the field to their front porch! The audience will watch the show from the front yard.

The festivities begin at 10 a.m. with a five-mile canoe float down the Duck River. A limited number of canoes are available at River Rats Canoe Rental in Columbia, TN, so interested participants are encouraged to reserve a canoe early. Gates to the farm will open at 1:00 p.m., and volleyball, horseshoes, cornhole toss and kids’ fun and games will run until 3 p.m. Have a favorite Joey+Rory song you like to sing? Karaoke will begin on the stage at 3 p.m.  Joey+Rory will be signing autographs and taking pictures in the merchandise booth from 3 to 4 p.m.

Joey + Rory and singer Seal and his wife, supermodel Heidi Klum, might seem like an odd pairing but Joey + Rory tweeted that they were hanging with the couple, saying “We spent the day w/Heidi Klum and her husband Seal at our farm and cafe. Long story, but a wonderful one” and attaching a photo of the four of them together. They followed it up with another photo, tweeting “Another pic of us at the farm w Heidi and Seal. They’re a wonderful couple. We had such a great time w them.”

While Joey + Rory are mum on what the two couples were up to, Nashville’s Fox 17 reports that Seal and Heidi are in Nashville to take part in a wedding ceremony for a Lifetime Television Special. Besides hanging out with Joey + Rory, Heidi and Seal reportedly spent some time on Capitol Hill visiting Tennessee lawmakers. Continue Reading
