Lady Antebellum’sOwn The Night album has been certified platinum for more than one million units sold, just four weeks after its release. The platinum milestone brings the group up to a total of seven million albums sold worldwide.
“It’s been a dizzying and exciting few months launching this album, but it’s also really energizing to see how the fans are reacting to some of the songs on our new record,” Dave Haywood said. ”The reaction both in the States and overseas has been a huge confidence booster as we are getting ready to launch our first big arena tour. We couldn’t be more excited to get back out on the road!”
Before the hit songs, awards and thousands of screaming fans, country stars held day jobs just like those who love their music. In Day Jobs, an original series premiering on Sunday, October 2 at 8 PM/ET, several of today’s top stars step away from the stage lights and put in a full day’s work the way they did before they made it big.
Each one-hour episode of Day Jobs follows three stars as they work a shift in a variety of jobs ranging from offshore oil rig roughneck to cattle rancher, women’s shoe salesman, pilot and waitress. As they work, they realize just how far they’ve come and how those early jobs helped shaped their life today.
Every participant agreed to put in a full eight-hour day and some had to undergo additional training. Before Trace Adkins returned to his former job as a roughneck on an offshore oil rig, he had to spend a day in safety training. Joe Nichols had to become certified to drive a forklift before spending a day loading pallets and filling orders in a warehouse. Continue Reading

Besides the standard 14-song album, there will also be a Limited Deluxe Edition version that includes a bonus song and a DVD featuring Miranda sharing the stories behind her new music.
“I’m so ready for the fans to hear it,” Miranda said. “‘Baggage Claim’ is such a groovy song and I’m glad it’s the first single. But just like Revolution, not one song represents the whole album. There are ‘All Kinds Of Kinds’ of music on the record, and I’m so excited for it to get out there.” Continue Reading

In just a few years, Lady Antebellum has become one of the most popular and successful bands in country music. In GAC’s new special, Backstory: Lady Antebellum, premiering Sunday, September 11 at 8/7c, the trio sits down to reflect on how they met, became a band and started on the journey to superstardom. Hillary’s, Charles’ and Dave’s parents also help tell the story and share never before seen childhood photos and performance videos.
After graduating from the University of Georgia with a finance degree, Charles moved to Nashville to pursue a solo career. Dave, also a UGA grad, was working an accounting job in Atlanta. Having written together once in college, Charles contacted Dave and was soon driving to Atlanta every other weekend to write. Dave eventually quit his job and joined Charles in Nashville.
“His brother (singer Josh Kelley) was a big influence on us so I figured maybe we could write songs for Josh or maybe for other country artists,” David said. He and Charles were decidedly against ‘day jobs’ as they pursued their music ambitions as solo artists, maxing out credit cards in the process. In 2006, Charles met Hillary in a Nashville club. Hillary was already a fan of Charles’ music from MySpace and the pair along with Dave agreed to write together. Continue Reading

GAC will be the proud sponsor of Lady Antebellum‘s upcomingOwn The Night 2011 Tour. The first leg will kick off in Knoxville, Tennessee on November, 11 and run through December 18 when it wraps with a show in Morgantown, West Virginia. Josh Kelley – the older brother of Lady A’s Charles Kelley – will join the tour as a special guest, along with a combination of Edens Edge and Randy Montana in the opening slot.
“GAC and everyone who works over there have always shown us so much love and support, even from the very beginning of our career and the release of our first single,” Dave Haywood said. “This Own the Night tour has been so much fun to plan. We’re excited that we’ll have our friends at GAC out on the road with us and helping us put together a once-in-a-lifetime experience for country music fans.”
“GAC has loved Lady Antebellum from their earliest days and we’re thrilled to be hitting the road with them in November,” GAC President Ed Hardy said.
Both the tour and the trio’s upcoming album, Own The Night, title were inspired by the album’s second single. “We named our new album Own The Night after one of our favorite songs ‘We Owned The Night’ off the new album, and felt it was a great description of how we wanted our fans to spend each night of tour with us,” Dave said. “When people come out to our live show or hear the song on the radio it’s a call to action. Be confident, live in the moment and enjoy the experiences you’re going through—own them.” Continue Reading
