Weddings bells rang and storks delivered for a number of country stars in 2012. Jake Owen married Lacey Buchanan in a small ceremony on the beach at sunrise on May 7. On Thanksgiving Day, the couple welcomed their first child, a daughter, Olive Pearl.

“Lacey and I are so excited to start our own family,” Jake said after Olive Pearl’s arrival. “We are looking forward to teaching Pearl everything we learned from our parents and also learning from her.”

Wynonna Judd and Cactus Moser tied the knot in a small ceremony on Wynonna’s farm in Tennessee on June 10. Two months later, Cactus was involved in a motorcycle accident that resulted in his leg being amputated. Wynonna canceled tour dates to remain by his side.

“The outpouring of prayer and support from friends, family and fans has been a blessing to both Cactus and I,” she said in the days after the accident. “Cactus is a champion. I love him deeply and I will not leave his side.” The pair have since resumed touring. Continue Reading

Jake Owen is having a really good week. He and wife Lacey welcomed their first child, daughter Olive Pearl, on Thanksgiving and just a few days later, Jake scored his third consecutive No. 1 single with “The One That Got Away. It’s also the first No. 1 Jake has had as a songwriter.

Congratulations to Jake Owen and his wife, Lacey, who welcomed their first child, Olive Pearl Owen, Thursday, November 22 in Nashville, TN. Baby Owen weighs 6 pounds, 3 ounces and is 19 1/2 inches long. Their daughter will go by her middle name “Pearl.” She is named after Jake’s godmother, who passed away in July, just months after the newlyweds found out they were expecting.

“Lacey and I are so excited to start our own family,” said Jake. “We are looking forward to teaching Pearl everything we learned from our parents and also learning from her.”

On Thursday, Jake tweeted this photo, saying, “Today is the greatest day of my life. Welcome Olive Pearl Owen. 6lbs 3 oz Turkey Baby!!! Happy Thanksgiving.”

Congratulations to Jake Owen and his wife, Lacey, who are expecting their first child — a girl! People.com reports Jake, 30, and Lacey, 22, will welcome her in November.

The happy couple said “I Do” May 7 in a sunrise beach ceremony in Jake’s hometown of Vero Beach, Florida. Yesterday on Jake’s Twitter page, he tweeted, “Greatest day of my life. Point blank. Best ever. Wow.”

“We actually found out Lacey was pregnant after I had asked her dad for his permission,” Jake tells People. “From the day I met her, there was no doubt in my mind I wanted to marry her, and we always knew we wanted a family. The way we saw it, the baby news was a bonus on top of the engagement, but we didn’t want anyone to think we were getting married because Lacey was pregnant, and we wanted to celebrate our wedding first.”

“We didn’t want to go public with it until we found out if it was a boy or a girl,” adds Lacey. “The pregnancy was just something we wanted to keep for ourselves for a little while.”

Jake, who’s currently out on the road on Kenny Chesney and Tim McGraw‘s Brothers of the Sun Tour, made it home in time for the first ultrasound appointment on Monday.

“Not only do I have a beautiful wife I get to spend my life with, I’m getting a baby too!” Jake tells People. “You know with other people’s babies, they’ll say, ‘Do you want to hold the baby?’ And I always am excited to do that, but then you have to give the baby back. Now we get to keep the baby!”

Happy anniversary to Martina McBride and her husband John McBride! The couple is celebrating their 24^th wedding anniversary today, May 15. So what’s the secret to their success and longevity?

“Well first of all I got lucky and chose well,” Martina said. “And we just have a lot of respect for each other and we are really good friends, and I think that that’s really important. We’ve grown together instead of apart. So it’s all worked out. He’s a great partner and I try to be a good partner back.”

Martina and John aren’t the only country couple celebrating an anniversary this week. Congratulations to Jake Owen and Lacey Buchanan, who tied the knot early this morning in a sunrise ceremony on the beach, reports People magazine [click on the photo above to see the full-size version].

“I’m looking forward to being a husband, someone his wife relies and leans on,” said Jake.

“He gives me so much love, that it’s the best place of my life,” said the equally-smitten Lacey, “and having the commitment of marriage means everything.”

This morning, Jake tweeted, “A best friend for life. I now have a wifey my face hurts from smiling. What a wonderful way to start the rest of my life.”

Lacey, 22, wore an Amsale gown and veil and Jake, 30, wore a white linen Armani shirt and Tommy Bahama drawstring pants. Both were barefoot on the beach in Jake’s hometown of Vero Beach, Florida.

“That was my idea,” said Jake of the early morning nuptials, “because it’s symbolic of the dawn of a new day and starting our new life together.” Continue Reading

Jake Owen’s fiancé Lacey Buchanan now has a ring to go with her proposal, reports People.com.  Jake worked with Lizzy Raye Jewelers in Atlanta to design the unique engagement ring. He presented Lacey with a 2.5-carat oval-cut diamond set in platinum with a ‘little bitty halo around it’ and small diamonds on the band.

“I told her, ‘The sparkle is never going to go away in that ring, and I don’t want our sparkle to ever go away either,’” Jake said. “‘On your darkest days, I want you to look at it and see that there’s a glimmer of light in it. I want it to always remind you of the possibilities of our relationship.’”

Jake’s mother also approved of the ring her son picked out. “I want that ring to be timeless,” he said to People. “When my mom saw it, she said, ‘That looks like something Princess Diana would wear.’ I was so excited to give it to her.”

Jake’s proposal during a show in his hometown of Vero Beach, Florida on April 7 was spontaneous, but not completely unplanned. Jake and Lacey had talked about getting married and he had even asked her father for permission. When the opportunity presented itself, Jake seized it.

“I only had one song left to play and it was ‘Don’t Think I Can’t Love You,’” he said. “I wrote it a long time ago about my family and my dad and mom had been married for 30 years. I just saw [Lacey] out there, my family, and I was like, forget the ring, screw it, this is like the perfect place to do it.” Continue Reading

Jake Owen‘s current No. 1, Alone With You” – a song about a toxic relationship – is certainly no reflection on his personal life! Last night during a concert in his hometown of Vero Beach, Florida, Jake proposed to girlfriend Lacey Buchanan during his hit, “Don’t Think I Can’t Love You.”

The proposal was spur-of-the-moment. “You’re probably wondering where your ring is, right?’” Jake teased Lacey.
