Carrie Underwood is a known animal lover – her dog Ace was a part of her wedding party! While traveling back to Tennessee after spending Christmas in Oklahoma with her family, she saw two dogs injured on the side of the interstate. Carrie didn’t hesitate to pull over, with her own two dogs, Ace and Penny, already in the back of her SUV. Carrie shared the story with her fans via her fan club blog, reports People.com.
When Carrie approached the two dogs, one of them started wagging their tail. Sadly, the other had died. She lifted the living dog, which she described as “limping” and bloody,” into the car.
“My guess is that the dogs were thrown out of their car by their owners on the highway,” Carrie wrote. She took the dog, which she named Stella, to her emergency vet for treatment.
Carrie updated fans on Stella’s progress on New Year’s day, writing that Stella had been groomed, was getting house trained, recovering from road rash and having her teeth cleaned. Carrie was also aiding in the process of finding Stella a permanent home. “She follows me around from room to room,” Carrie wrote. “She’s the best Lab I’ve ever been around!” Continue Reading

Last week we posted Carrie Underwood’s thoughts on singing with Steven Tyler on the 46th Annual ACM Awards. Carrie was recently on The Tonight Show With Jay Leno and she discussed the Aerosmith rock legend. But that’s not all she talked about! Carrie also addressed the hockey critics and Canadian radio stations who’ve called her “Yoko Underwood” and blamed her for taking hubby Mike Fisher away from the Ottawa Senators and bringing him to play in Nashville for the Predators.
“It’s my fault,” joked Carrie. “I’m amazed – even my friends were like, ‘How did you pull that off?’ I’m glad people think I am that powerful. If you play for any professional sports team, do not mess with me. I will get you traded to Lord knows where!”
Carrie also talked about her new movie, Soul Surfer, Mike’s love of UFC fighting and shopping – and a most interesting wedding gift they received. Watch the clip below: Continue Reading

Carrie Underwood’s hockey-star husband Mike Fisher made headlines a couple weeks ago when the Ottawa Senators announced they were trading him to the Nashville Predators. Mike, a mainstay with the Senators for the last ten years, tells Dial-Global that he expected the backlash from his Senator fans. “I laugh about those things,” he said. He’s also shrugging off the Music City headlines referring to him as ‘Carrie Underwood’s Husband.’ “I’m used to it,” he admitted. “It’s to be expected. This is where she is. Some people know me down here and hopefully I can make a name for myself.”
While initially hesitant about the move, Mike thinks Nashville is a great opportunity for him as a player to start enjoying the game of hockey again, following a rocky season with the Senators. Getting away from the media buzz surrounding hockey in Canada to the more laid-back Nashville was a plus too.
“It’s been the toughest season I’ve had as a player, ever,” said Mike. “It’s not fun losing. You’re always under the microscope. There’s the same questions every day. Down here, there’s less pressure from the media and I think it allows guys to go out and play the game the best they can and not have those other pressures. For me, I think it’ll be a good thing.” Continue Reading

There will be no more splitting time between the States and Canada for Carrie Underwood and her hockey star husband Mike Fisher! The Nashville Predators announced today that they have acquired Mike from the Ottawa Senators.
“We were seeking a top-six forward and Mike Fisher was the player we set our sights on,” David Poile, the Preds’ President of Hockey Operations/General Manger, said. “He plays playoff-style hockey all season long. He plays on the power play, kills penalties, is strong on draws and can match up against any opposing line.” Continue Reading

Life as a country star usually is not the glamorous profession it appears from the outside. The road trips are exhausting, the time away from family is relentless and the number of people making demands is overwhelming.
That’s for the typical country star. Then there’s Carrie Underwood. Not only is she one of country’s biggest stars, she’s married to someone who lives in a different country.
Carrie and hockey player Mike Fisher tied the knot in July and immediately went on a honeymoon. And then she found herself alone again.

Newlywed Carrie Underwood‘s latest single, “Mama’s Song,” contains a line about a woman telling her mother she’s found the right man: “He treats your little girl like a real man should,” Carrie sings. When it was time to shoot the video, who else would she get to play her mom, but…her mom, Carole? And, though you can only see quick glimpses of him, that’s her husband, hockey player Mike Fisher, making a cameo.
“[Mike's] not ‘in’ it but you can tell it’s him,” Carrie told People.com. ”He hung out with my mom [on set] and he’s great with her.” The superstar also told People.com the best part of the shoot: “Just seeing [Mike] in my world was sweet,” she said.
The video made its world premiere today on VEVO. Watch Carrie’s family affair here and tell us what you think of it! Continue Reading

When Ottawa Senators hockey player Mike Fisher married Carrie Underwood July 10, he knew what he was getting into. The bride is beautiful, talented and under a lot of scrutiny.
Because of that, any man on her arm is also going to be the source of public interest — especially when his job is the kind of public vocation that a pro athlete pursues. So when when Mike broke to chat with reporters during a hockey camp for kids in Canada on Wednesday, he was prepared for an onslaught of relationship-related questions, including how he’s adjusting to paparazzi.

Carrie Underwood is now also known as Carrie Fisher. Carrie and Ottawa Senators player Mike Fisher were married today at a luxury resort in Greensboro, Ga.
According to People magazine, Carrie, 27, and Mike, 30, said their vows before 250 friends and family in a ceremony featuring classical music and the couple’s favorite Bible readings.
“We could not feel more blessed to have found each other and to have shared this day with our friends and family that mean so much to us!” the newlyweds told the magazine in a statement, signing their names “Mike & Carrie Fisher.”
The bride wore a Chantilly lace dress created for her by Monique Lhuillier, who also designed the bridesmaids’ dresses. USA Today reported the guest list included Faith Hill and Tim McGraw.
Back in March, Carrie told People that with their busy schedules, she and Mike would “be little nomads for a while” and that they would keep homes in Nashville and Peterborough, Ontario.
Congrats to Carrie & Mike!
