This Sunday, the stars are coming together to help Nashville as GAC airs Music City Keep On Playin’ — A Benefit For Flood Relief. Airing from Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium at 8 p.m. ET, the fundraiser features Brad Paisley, Lady Antebellum, Keith Urban, Dierks Bentley, Rodney Atkins, and Kellie Pickler, among others.
Kellie recently called in to our studio with the exciting news that she wanted GAC to have the world premiere of her new video, “Makin’ Me Fall In Love Again.” The video has a 1940s USO theme and you can see it TONIGHT — Friday, May 14 at 8 p.m. Eastern – on the Top 20 Country Countdown.
When Kellie shot the video in Los Angeles a couple of months ago, she was in the middle of touring with good buddy Taylor Swift and took advantage of a day off to film the clip. She not only worked on her day off, she worked in an injured state.
“That week, I’d sprained my ankle really bad and torn some ligaments in my ankle,” she tells GAC. “So the whole day of the shoot, when I’d wear heels, every time they’d say, ‘Cut!’ I’d just have to take my shoe off. By the end of the day, my whole foot was so swollen, I couldn’t even fit a shoe on it. There’s a scene of me sitting on a couch in the video. I’m wearing one shoe and I had to hide my other foot because it was so swollen!” Continue Reading

The flood that submerged significant parts of Nashville last week was extraordinarily tough on lots of people. Many — including Brad Paisley, who headlines a GAC benefit concert this weekend — are taking stock and already in rebuilding mode.
More than 20 people lost their lives in the deluge; many more lost their houses. So Brad recognizes that even if his losses were significant, they pale in comparison to others’ misfortune.
His biggest setback came when SoundCheck, a storage facility near the Cumberland River, was flooded. He lost most of his guitars and some of the staging he intended to use on his upcoming H2O Tour. Many of the guitars were custom-built models that he’d grown accustomed to using in specific settings. Now he’ll be hitting the stage in front of thousands of people playing guitars that feel unfamiliar — or, at least, unfamiliar on a specific song.

Between the three members of Lady Antebellum and the five members of Maroon 5, it’s quite the gang that will show up in the fall.
Lady A joined the pop band on a song called “Out Of Goodbyes” that appears on the Maroon 5 album Hands All Over, due Sept. 21. It’s just the latest development outside of country for Lady A, which spent five weeks at No. 1 on the all-genre Billboard 200 albums chart this year with Need You Now. The title track is currently at the top of the adult contemporary singles chart.
One other pop collaboration is sitting in the can at the moment. Lady A worked with R&B singer John Legend at the end of last year. What happens with that particular song is a bit unclear.
