The Voice is NBC’s highest rated program outside of Sunday Night Football and while the network won’t confirm it, the show, which premiered with season three on Monday, will be back for a new season in the spring, according to Billboard. But whether or not the show’s coaches – Blake Shelton, Adam Levine, CeeLo Green and Christina Aguilera – will be in the now-famous red chairs is another matter.
Executive produce Mark Burnett says he’s ready to extend the show’s run, even if it means having to lose some of the coaches who have other obligations such as touring and recording new music. One insider told Billboard they expect at least two of the coaches to take a break after season three wraps. Their chairs will always be open should they want to return, however.
“Here’s the fact we decided: When you’ve been on this show, that’s your chair for life,” Mark Burnett said. “So if they have to tour and someone comes in for a season and then goes out for a season, comes back for a season, there will never be anyone getting replaced, ever. It’s going to be moving pieces all the time. And luckily maybe a couple of them go on tour, a couple of them don’t go on tour. They have an obligation to their fans. And so that’s how we’re going to do it.”

Miranda Lambert‘s official website (via Deadline.com) reports NBC has bought a light drama executive produced by Miranda, based on her life.
Miranda’s parents — Richard Lee “Rick” Lambert, a retired police officer, and Beverly “Bev” June Lambert — ran a successful private detective agency in Lindale, Texas while raising Miranda and her younger brother, Luke. Miranda has often spoken in interviews about how that shaped her childhood.
Chad Hodge is set to write the project. Aaron Kaplan of Kapital Entertainment, Hodge and Miranda are executive producing with her manager, Marion Kraft. Bev Lambert will serve as a consultant on the TV project.
Miranda’s website says her husband Blake Shelton‘s relationship with NBC (home of The Voice) played a role in her show landing on the network.

Blake Shelton completed his team on NBC’s The Voice Monday night by securing power vocalist Adley Stump for his team. Adley performed Carrie Underwood’s “Last Name” during the final blind auditions, causing both Blake and fellow coach Christina Aguilera to turn their chairs. Blake was spurred by Christina’s response to Adley’s performance to push his button for her.
“Her being interested really pushed me over the edge,” Blake said. “I was like ‘man this girl, is she as powerful as I think she is?’ And man, I think you’re great.” Continue Reading

Blake Shelton was already a star in the country music world when NBC’s The Voice hit airwaves, but his sense of humor and passion for his team quickly won over a whole new legion of fans that perhaps hadn’t heard of him before. He credits The Voice for his rise in popularity and realizes it won’t last forever – but country music will.
“You don’t see a lot of country artists end up in pop culture, but somehow Miranda and I are there for a minute,” Blake told Reuters. “When The Voice comes and goes, and Miranda and I being married are not interesting to talk about anymore, country music will still be important to me. It’s the reason I moved to Nashville.”

Blake Shelton is a hit on both the radio and TV these days, as one of the coaches on NBC’s The Voice. As much as he jokes about wanting to win, he also wants to help those he’s chosen as part of his team succeed. Calling the show ‘fun, frightening and gratifying,’ Blake tells The Oklahoman he is taking his role seriously.
“I won’t lie, I mean, I wanted to be on the show just because it sounded like fun,” he told the paper. “But once you turn that chair around and you’re looking into someone’s eyes… and you realize, man, I was that person, that person up there giving that 200 percent, everything they got, they want this more than they want to live. You know, I remember what that feels like. And instantly it goes for me from a game show or entertainment to something real.”
Blake is used to being onstage in front of thousands of people and living his well-tweeted-about country lifestyle. For the show, however, he has had to uproot temporarily to a home in L.A. Thanks to The Voice, he has a new appreciation for what it takes to step into the spotlight of Hollywood as a television personality.

Move over Blake Shelton, Reba McEntire is coming to your show. NBC has upped the star power on their new talent discovery show, The Voice. Reba, along with Monica, Sia and music producer Adam Blackstone will join the show as advisors, each teaming up with one of the show’s coaches, Blake, Adam Levine, Cee Lo Green and Christina Aguilera.
The new advisors will assist with the upcoming ‘battles’ competition of the show which will last for four episodes and take place in a boxing ring. Each coach will pit two artists from their eight-act teams against each other in a series of duels to shrink the teams to four. Reba will work with Blake, Cee Lo with Monica, Adam with Maroon 5’s music director Adam Blackstone and Christina with singer/songwriter Sia. It will be the advisor’s job to improve the contestants’ image and performance. Continue Reading

Blake Shelton‘s “Honey Bee” has so much buzz, it’s not surprising his record label, Warner Bros. is following up its success by releasing his ninth album on July 12. Produced by multi-award winner Scott Hendricks, the album will include “Honey Bee,” his fastest rising single to date. Just one week after its debut, “Honey Bee” sold over 138,000 digital singles, a feat unmatched by any country male soloist. Beginning tonight, Blake will join superstars Christina Aguilera, Cee Lo Green and Adam Levine as a coach on NBC’s “The Voice.”
“There are so many things I’m excited to share with everyone this year,” said the reigning CMA Male Vocalist of the Year. “I can’t wait for people to hear the record; I have found some of the best songs of my career.
